CRIMM Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separator

Brief Introduction 

The core technology of CRIMM Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separator (WHIMS) is that the it provides very high gradients (up to 105) and the magnetic field (up to 2T) which enables the separator to concentrate weakly magnetic and process weakly magnetic materials at very fine grain sizes (-10µm).

The CRIMM WHIMS integrates several stages of magnetic separation into one machine, and yields high grade and recovery of concentrates, reducing the grade of tailings.

The CRIMM WHIMS are exported to Brazil with well reception.

Application 

· If the magnetic material is the required product,  CRIMM WHIMS produces a magnetic concentrate, e.g. hematite, pyrrhotite, siderite, ilmenite, ores of chromium, manganese, tungsten, zinc, tantalum, niobium, nickel and other weakly magnetic materials.

· Non-magnetic material can be upgraded by removing impurities, e.g. super white sand, glass sand, feldspar, apatite, clay, talc, kaolin, coal, fluorspar, nepheline, diatomaceous earth, barite, graphite, bauxite, cassiterite etc. Such impurities include biotite and muscovite, iron-stained particles, garnet, iron silicates, etc.

· Recovery of red mud as tailings of bauxite, and ilmenite, gold, platinum, chromium, manganese r tailings, the CRIMM WHIMS serves as a pre-concentrator, such as scavenging from sub-grade deposits.

Hematite recovery in west China 

CRIMM WHIMS has increased the grade of concentrates by 2~5 points, and decreased the grade of tailings by 2~4 points. It is the first time for the plant to minimize the loss to the lowest of iron in tailings, bringing millions of benefit to the plant every year.

Ilmenite recovery in south-east China 

CRIMM WHIMS recovered over 50% of the valuable minerals in the tailings which take up 30% of the total valuable metal.

Specularite recovery in middle-east China 

CRIMM WHIMS were used in secondary high intensity scavenging. The yield rate is increased by 16 points, recovery increased by 26 points, and the grade of tailings was reduced by 10 points, bringing about 280,000 more tons of high grade iron concentrates to the plant.

Glass sand upgrading 

Wide application in removing impurities in glass sand, feldspar, refractory material in Guangdong, Hainan province, China.
